2. Medical Disclaimer

Metabology Wellness provides telehealth services for medical weight loss in Washington State. Our services are provided by licensed healthcare professionals, but telehealth has limitations:

  • Physical examinations cannot be performed remotely
  • Diagnostic testing requires in-person visits
  • Emergency conditions require immediate 911 contact
  • Treatment recommendations are based on information you provide

This service is not for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.

3. Washington State Regulations

Metabology Wellness operates in compliance with Washington State medical regulations:

  • All providers are licensed to practice medicine in Washington State
  • Prescriptions are subject to Washington State Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)
  • Controlled substances follow DEA and Washington State guidelines
  • Telehealth services comply with Washington State telehealth parity laws

4. Patient Rights Under HIPAA

You have the following rights regarding your Protected Health Information (PHI):

  • Right to Access: View and obtain copies of your medical records
  • Right to Amend: Request corrections to your medical information
  • Right to Accounting: Know who has accessed your medical records
  • Right to Restrict: Request limitations on how your information is used
  • Right to Confidential Communications: Request communications via specific methods
  • Right to File a Complaint: File complaints about privacy violations

5. Consent to Treatment

By registering with Metabology Wellness, you consent to:

  • Telehealth consultations via video, phone, or secure messaging
  • Collection and storage of medical history and health information
  • Electronic prescribing of medications when medically appropriate
  • Communication via email for non-urgent matters
  • Treatment by licensed healthcare providers employed by Metabology Wellness

6. Data Usage and Privacy

We collect and use your information as described in our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • All Protected Health Information (PHI) is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
  • Access to medical records is logged and audited for HIPAA compliance
  • We do not sell or share your medical information with third parties for marketing
  • Information may be shared with healthcare providers involved in your care

7. Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Using a strong password and updating it regularly

We implement security measures including account lockout after failed login attempts and session timeouts for your protection.

8. Payment Terms

Payment for services is processed through our secure scheduling system (Vagaro):

  • Consultation fees are due at time of appointment booking
  • Medication costs are separate and billed through pharmacy
  • Insurance coverage varies; verify benefits before appointment
  • Payment methods: credit card, debit card, HSA/FSA cards

9. Refund Policy

  • Consultation fees are non-refundable once appointment is completed
  • Cancellations made 24+ hours before appointment: full refund
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours: no refund
  • No-shows: no refund, may result in account suspension

10. Service Limitations

Metabology Wellness reserves the right to:

  • Refuse service to anyone for any lawful reason
  • Terminate accounts that violate these terms
  • Modify or discontinue services with notice
  • Decline to prescribe medications when not medically appropriate

11. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Provide false or misleading medical information
  • Use services to obtain controlled substances unlawfully
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Attempt to access other patients' medical records
  • Use automated systems to access our platform
  • Harass or threaten healthcare providers or staff

12. Liability and Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Services are provided "as is" without warranties
  • We are not liable for technical failures or service interruptions
  • Healthcare decisions are made by licensed providers based on available information
  • You assume responsibility for following treatment recommendations

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Washington State. Any disputes will be resolved in courts located in Washington State.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
